- Notes from Betty Watson's mother or aunt: "Hugh Hughes was marred the first time to the daughter of the owner of Hendre Cennin farm where he lived for many years as a farmer. There were four children born to this union whe we have no record of. Several Years later after Hugh Hughes wife died, he married the second time to Anne Jones in 1854. Anne Jones was the daughter of Margaret Roberts, sister of the eminant misister of Wales - namely - Ther Rev. Robert Roberts of Clynog, No. Wales, The Rev. John Roberts of Llaveven whose son was the noted Rev. Michael Roberts of Pullheli, Nor. Wales. Margaret Roberts died soon after the birth of her daughter, Anne Jones, so Anne Jones was raised by her grandfather and grandmother at the farm Bryn (Hill) Bychan (small). It was necessary for Anne Jones to earn a living for herself as her father had remarried. Anne Jones was first cousin to Mr. J.W. Jones, former editor of "Y Drych" (The Mirror), a Welsh paper still being published in Utica, N.Y." Another reference: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyunywh/oneidawelsh/index.html
