NANCY ELAINE WATSON

(1948 - 1997)

BRASFIELD (nee Watson) Nancy Elaine, 49, of Ft. Lauderdale died Friday, July 25, 1997 after a courageous struggle against lung cancer. Nancy was born and raised in Seattle, where she had been active for many years in the marine and hospitality industries.  Among her many accomplishments was the establishment of a bookstore in Seattle's Pike Place Market, and serving on the local historical commission.  She moved to Florida in 1995.  Her loving husband of 22 years, Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Michael Brasfield, survives her.  In addition to her many friends, she will be forever remembered with great joy and love by her parents Emmett and Betty Lea Watson, sister Lea Watson, mother-in-law Lois Brasfield, brother-in-law Bruce Brasfield, niece Marisa Brasfield, and stepson David Brasfield, all of Seattle. She felt a special place in her heart for her stepdaughter Laura Robinson along with son-in-law Michael and grandsons Zachary and Corey, all of Fallbrook, Ca.  At the request of the family, there will be no local services.  Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made in her name to the Bryant Peney Scholarship Fund c/o the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department.
