Wake County, February Term 1808
The within Deed from Edward Hocut and his wife Ellenor Hocut, to James
Roberts was exhibited in Open Court for probate, and duly proven by the
Oath of Edward Lee, and at the same time the aforesaid Ellenor Hocut, being
in Court, it was ordered that George Brasfield Esq. a Justice of the peace
for aforesaid County be appointed to take the private examination of the
said Ellenor separate and apart from her said Husband touching the
execution of said Deed, who reported that she the aforesaid Ellenor
declared that she executed the same freely and of her own accord without
the coercion of her Husband. Ordered that the same be Registered.

16. George HERNDON was born about 1762. He signed a will on 18 Nov 1820 in Wake County, NC. Will dated November 15, 1820 with codicil November 20, 1824. Proved at the May 1825 term of Wake County Court.

To my loving wife, Ailsey, the balance of my estate.
My friend, George Brasfield, as executor with Ailsey executrix,
" For lack of George Brasfield as executor, I do hereby constitue and appoint my worthy friend (my brother) Edmond Herndon".
Note: Hosea Herndon was bondsman for his father's second marriage.
He died before May 1825 in Wake County, NC.
George HERNDON had the following children:

James, Thorn of Raleigh, NC, a planter of some standing, was committed to jail on Thursday last week, charged with the murder of Hosea HERNDON, ayoung man, who had been occasionally employed by him as a labourer, whom he had shot in a drunken frolic without much, if any, provocation.
He was married to Ailsey GRISSAM on 11 Mar 1815 in Wake County, NC.
