Robert Vilcone is your fiancee's grandfather and he just turned 80 years old. He is very active and in fact is driving to southern California from Chico this month. He and his brother (my husband's father) were on the battleship Maryland during the bombing at Pearl Harbor. In fact, on the DVD of the movie Pearl Harbor, he is one of the Pearl Harbor survivors who was interviewed on the "behind the scenes" portion of the DVD. He and his wife, Betty, divorced some years ago and she too is still living (she lives with her daughter). There are two other brothers of Dan Vilcone, one lives in Michigan and the other in Northern California.
