Mrs. Minnie Lee "Mrs. Minnie" Gaunty Brasfield, 71, of Eagleville, died Thursday in Nashville following an extended illness. She was a native of Lincoln County, a homemaker and was a member of the Eagleville Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Sally Dee Gaunty and was also preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law: Ricky Lee and Kathy Beech; son-in-law and fishing buddy Gene Ewing; sister-in-law Pauline Gaunty. She loved God, her family and friends, fishing, gardening, music, dancing, reading and talking on the telephone. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by husband James Brasfield, of Eagleville; daughters Patty Ewing, of Nashville, and Kathy (Jerry) Rogers, of Murfreesboro; son Terry (Cheryl) Beech, of Nashville; sisters Dovie (Gene) Keller and Monnie (Gordon) Walker, both of Fayetteville, and Joy (Don) True, of Eagleville; brother Charles Gaunty, of Nashville; nine grandchildren: C.L. Castleman, Steve (Nikki) Lemaster, David Beech, Casey (Michael) Davis, Matthew Beech, Mark Beech, Jacklyn (David) Heaton, Tonya Beech, Terri Harwell; nine great-grandchildren: Brian, Cody, Cristy, Kayla, Shana, Krista, Justin, Rachael and Eli. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rocky Glade Cemetery in Rutherford County. The family of "Mrs. Minnie" would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Vanderbilt Hospital for their kindness and compassion during her illness.
