One of the most beautiful weddings ever celebrated in Monticello occurred Friday evening at 4:30 o'clock at the Presbyterian church when Miss Alice Wood Magee, charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Wood Magee, was given in marriage to Mr. Phillip Herman Brasfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Brasfield of McComb. The church was a scene of beauty with a background of lovely potted plants with pink hydrangeas and tall baskets of pink peonies in graceful arrangement. Pews for the relatives and very close friends were designated by white tulle bows decorated with shasta daisies.

The ushers were Mesdames James Harrell and H. B. Wood of McComb.

Miss Louise Fairman, cousin of the bride, gowned in flowered net with orchid picture hat and wearing a corsage of pink rose buds, served as pianist and accompanied by Mr. Carroll Brinson who played Flower Song by Lange on the violin and Miss Minnie Bell Fairman who gave two lovely vocal numbers, "At Dawning" and "Until" with violin obligato. Miss Fairman was costumed in flowered chiffon with yellow accessories and carried yellow roses. The bridal party entered the church to the strains of Mendelsshon's Wedding March played on piano and violin, the ushers first, followed by Miss Luray Strebich of McComb, bridesmaid, who was becomingly attired in orchid net and hat and carried pink roses and Mr. Robert Harlon of McComb, groomsman. Next to enter was Miss Louise Wood of MComb, bridesmaid, who wore a lovely dress of blue net with a tan lace hat and carried pink roses. She was joined by Milton Hoskins of McComb, groomsman. The matron of honor was Mrs. O. F. Temple, Jr., of Meridian, sister of the bride, who wore a lovely frock of rose embroidered net with natural lace hat and carried a boquet in pink and green. Miss Euginia Rallsback of McComb, maid of honor, was becomingly dressed in flowered net with natural lace hat. She carried a boquet of roses and gypsy phalia. The groom entered with his best man, his brother, Mr. Fritz Brasfield of Edwards, and was met at the altar by the bride who was given in marriage by her father, Hon. G. Wood Magee. The bride was radiantly lovely in her wedding dress of rose beige crepe chiffon with lace collar and becoming lace hat. The bouquet was of pink roses and gypsy phalia. Lohengrin's Wedding March was played as she entered the church. The beautiful and impressive double ring ceremony was performed by Dr. Frank H. Caldwell, pastor of the Presbyterian church at McComb, in the presence of a gathering of relatives and friends that taxed the capacity of the building and attested to the popularity of the bride and groom. Traumerei was softly played during the ceremony. The wedding party left the church to the strains of a wedding march and went to the hospitable home of Hon. and Mrs. G. Wood Magee, where an elegant reception was given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Brasfield. In the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Magee, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Brasfield of McComb, parents of the groom, and the members of the bridal party. As the guests entered the home they were served fruit punch by Mesdames S. J. Givens and M. P. Simmons. Later Misses Helen Arrington, Kathryn Walker, Edna Kendall Gibson, Essie Mae Tynes, Helen Conn, Margaret, Sadie, and Alice Earle Fairman served pink and white cream with cake. A handsome array of beautiful and costly presents from friends and relatives bespoke the popularity of the bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Brasfield left for a delightful honeymoon trip on the gulf coast and other interesting points. Mrs. Brasfield wore a lovely ensemble costume of navy blue georgette with red accessories. Before leaving she threw her bride's bouquet which was caught by Miss Minnie Belle Fairman. On their return from their wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Brasfield will make their home at McComb where they have an attractive apartment. Mr. Brasfield has business connections with the Louisiana Oil Corporation. For the past four years, Mrs. Brasfield has been a popular member of the faculty of the McComb schools. She is a graduate of M.S.C.W. and a young lady of charming personality whose friends are legion. Mr. Brasfield was a guest of honor at a stag dinner given by friends and business associates at McComb and among the pre-nuptial affairs honoring Mrs. Brasfield were the miscellaneous shower given on the lawn of the C. E. Gibson home and the beautiful party given by her sister, Mrs. C. L. Fortenberry, on Thursday night after the wedding rehearsal. Among the out-of-town guests for the wedding were the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Brasfield with Miss Frances Brasfield, Carl and Ernest Brasfield of McComb, Mr. Fritz Brasfield, brother and little Natalie Brasfield of Edwards; Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Bankston, brother-in-law and sister of the groom of Edwards; Mr. and Mrs. Will Rueff of Tchula; Mr. Reginald Bacot, Mrs. P. C. Jones and Mrs. Frances Evans of Summit; Mesdames W. G. Watson and Ward Voight of Jackson; Mesdames H. B. Wood, J. W. Leggett, J. L. Noland, Maude Brown, W. E. Berry, B. F.
