Mrs. Betty Susan Brown, age 59, of Smyrna, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville, Georgia, following a period of declining health. Born March 12, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Lamar E. Whitehead and Eula Simmons Whitehead. Mrs. Brown had worked as a pharmacist assistant with Rite Aid. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Smyrna, Georgia. Survivors include, HER HUSBAND, Stephen P. Brown, of Smyrna, Ga.; TWO SONS, Chris Cannon, of Powder Springs, Ga.; and Derek Brown, of Graceville, Fla.; GRANDCHILDREN, Austin Cannon and Kinsley Pruett, both of Marietta, Ga. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2011, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, the Rev. Mark Erion will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Betty Susan Brown Memorial Fund, c/o Roper Funeral Home, 206 Holley St., Jasper, Georgia 30143. The family will receive friends at the Roper Funeral Home on Monday, September 26, 2011, 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
