LOOPER, Micah Lynn Brasfield, age 44, of Knoxville passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012. Micah was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Micah was a graduate of Carson Newman College, and worked side by side with her husband at Greene, Looper, and Brasfield Law Office. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Travis P. Brasfield, Louis M. and Betty Ocie Hutchens. She is survived by her husband, Patrick L. Looper; three children, Austin P. Looper, Jackson L. Looper, and Betty (Mady) Looper; mother, Betty Brasfield Jenkins; father, Travis G. Brasfield; brother and sister-in-law, Travis L. and Allison E. Brasfield; mother-in-law, Comaleta Looper, grandmother, Sylvia W. Brasfield; uncles, Freddie and Dr. Jimmy Brasfield and many extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 4328 East Emory Road, Knoxville, TN with Dr. Alan Price officiating. Family and friends will gather at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Edgewood Cemetery, 229 Gallaher View Road for graveside services. Travis P. Brasfield, 88, of Knoxville, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.
Travis was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He owned and operated East Tennessee Home Builders for 40 years. He was active in banking and other businesses in Knoxville.
Travis is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sylvia (Whitson) Brasfield; sons, attorney Travis Brasfield, Dr. Jim C. Brasfield and Freddie Brasfield; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Doris Brasfield and Doug and Lola Brasfield; sister, Jane Carnal; and several nieces and nephews and numerous special friends.
Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, Merchant Drive. Service will follow at 8 p.m.
Family and friends will meet at Oak Ridge Memorial Park Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, for an 11 a.m. entombment.
