If you do continue to research this line of Gayles, I would appreciate it if you would consider sharing any information you might find on John Gayle, Jr. and wife Malinda Freeman. I have two professional researchers, one in VA and one in Owen CO, working on my connection to John Gayle who married Malinda Brassfield. My connection is his sister Sarah Gayle Freeman, who also came to Owen CO and made her home for many years with John Gayle, Jr and her daughter Malinda Freeman Gayle. This was a first cousin marriage and has been difficult to trace. I myself am now working on Caroline CO records. My appreciation for any consideration on the sharing of information.
