Muriel Viola Einersen Brassfield, 76, wife of Gordon W. Brassfield of Monroeton, RR1, Franklin Township, Pa. passed away Tuesday evening, July 20, 2004 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Born June 2, 1928 at home in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y. she was a daughter of the late Fritzoff and Augusta Einersen. Muriel was formerly employed by EDO Corporation in College Point, Queens, N.Y. for 18 years. She was a member of the College Point Volunteer Ambulance Corps and was associated with the American Cancer Society in New York for a number of years.
Surviving are: her husband: Gordon W. Brassfield at home, 2 sons; Kevin Flanigan and his wife Linda Flanigan of College Point, Queens, N.Y. and Michael Flanigan of Sayre, Pa., a stepson; Gordon W. Brassfield Jr. and his wife Melissa Brassfield of Towanda, a stepdaughter; Carol Brassfield of White Plains, N.Y. Grandchildren; Edward, Rose-Ann, Shannon, Cheryl and Kimberly Flanigan, Michael Flanigan, Jr., Lisamarie, Gary and Cynthia Brassfield, Cullen Moriarty, Travis, Brett and Bryant King, a brother; Raymond Einersen and his wife Helen Einersen of College Point, Queens, N.Y., a sister; Dorothy Einersen of College Point, Queens, N.Y., several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the Maryott Bowen Funeral Home 217 York Ave. Towanda, Pa. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Franklin Center Cemetery, Franklin Township, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, Bradford Unit, 1948 East Third, Street, Williamsport, Pa. 17701-3945 in Muriel Viola Brassfield's memory.
