    Sunday, March 26, 1916

    Eight Victims of Wind Storm in Murray County Davis, March 25-- Members of the family of ALEX EDGMON were killed in a storm which swept across a section of Murray County some 3 or 4 miles east of here last night shortly after 9 p.m. The storm moved in a northeasterly direction accompanied by a heavy fall of rain and hail.

    ALEX EDGMON, head of the family, escaped death, having gone to see after his stock when the tornado struck the home which was a box house. The victims are: MRS. ALEX EDGMON 50, ALONZO EDGMON 18, SAM EDGMON 14, PETE EDGMON 30, MRS. PETE EDGMON and two children of Mr. and Mrs. PETE EDGMON, and MRS. HANNAH THOMAS, age 80, mother of MRS. ALEX EDGMON, who was totally blind.

    The family of REV. H. D. LOW escaped injury although their home was demolished, the family having taken refuge in the storm house. Several other farm houses in the path of the storm were destroyed? Nearly Chigley, L. O. FRANKLIN and wife were both injured, Mr. Franklin sustaining a broken arm and leg.

    A little girl of the young Edgmons was visiting at the home of a neighbor at the time of the storm and escaped. The bodies of the eight victims were brought to Davis today and will be interred here tomorrow in one grave at the Davis cemetery.
