    Michael,

    I am Nelindra K. Corum, and I am researching the John Jacob Kolle/Kelly family of South Carolina. I found your web page on William Albert Brassfield. Your page shows a marriage to a Louvinia Kelly. I am trying to tie an Edward Kelly of Pontotoc Co., MS to the above cited South Carolina Kelly family. One of my contacts is a lady named Susan Ford who had sent to me information for Louvinia Kelly. Louvinia goes back to the Edward Kelly I am researching. I sent and got Edward's war pension application from the National Archives, and I had information to share with Susan, but she has changed her e-mail address. Now I have all this info on Edward and I am trying to share this info even if he turns out not to be mine. Do you by chance know Susan? She would be a cousin of yours thru the father of Louvinia, one William Kelly, son of Edward.

    Do you want the Kelly info, and do you have an updated e-mail address for Susan?

    Michael, I went back to the library today and found a book "Greene County Alabama Records" by Marshall. I found the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In it I found the following:

    Malissa Brasfield - April 24, 1844/May 23, 1869
    Roeney wife of J. Brasfield - d. May 12, 1844
    Inf. son J. & Roeney Brasfield - June 10, 1830/June 18, 1836 Inf. son J., & Roeney Brasfield - April 4, 1844/May 20, 1844

    Does this blow our theory out of the water or does it open a can of worms?

    Michael, on William Leon Brassfield 8-12-1896 - 12-15-1967 1 - why is one child name withheld? 2 - why is spouse on James Albert withheld? Then on Rowena Carpenter - In searching in books named "Alabama Records" I found in Greene County in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Lewiston a listing for Roeney wife of J. Brasfield d. May 12, 1844. Could this possibly be Rowena Carpenter who married John "Jackey" Brasfield? He married a second time January 2, 1847 to Rebecca Valentine in Greene County. This would fall into the time frame for them. Rowena's last baby, Levi, was born in 1843. Would like your input. Dorothy Brasfield dbras@bellsouth.net 7/21/2001 I found this information in some books at the Shreve Memorial Library in Shreveport, Louisiana. There are about 245 volumes "Alabama Records" and they include marriages, wills, deaths, cemetery, and etc. This information on Roeney was in volume 192, page 58.
