HOUSTON, Mississippi.
Arthur Junior Rucker, 72, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born March 31, 1938, to Arthur Smith Rucker and Della Mae Brown Rucker. He attended Faith Bible Church and drove a truck for more than 30 years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Southern Funeral Chapel in Houston with Bro. Johnny Cherry and Bro. Randy Rinehart officiating. Burial will be in Chickasaw Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Southern Funeral Chapel of Houston is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Rucker and Connie, Larry Rucker and Angela and Bobby Rucker, all of Houston; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Russell of Houston.

Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Virgie Virginia Rucker, 72, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the North MS Medical Center Pontotoc. She was born in Chickasaw County to Charles Ervin and Lizzie May Buford, July 22, 1939. She was a sitter for the elderly, and was a member of Faith Bible Church in Houston.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2011, at 2 pm at Southern Funeral Chapel, with Brother Johnny Cherry and Brother Randy Rinehart officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Charles Rucker & Connie, Larry Rucker & Angela, and Bobby Dale Rucker, all of Houston; three brothers: Samuel "Sammy" Ervin Buford of Brandon, James Robert Buford of Moline, Ill, and Jerry Allen Buford of Pontotoc; four sisters: Charlotte Ann Barnett, Teresa Pettit, Alice Orene Strickland and Martha Conners all of Houston, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Lizzie Buford

HOUSTON - Lizzie Mae Buford, 82, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at the Trace Regional Hospital. She waas a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ervin Buford, on May 5, 1993.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Houston Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Samuel and the Rev. John Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Houston.

Survivors include five daughters, Virgie Rucker, Charlotte Barnett, Treacer Pettit, Alice Strickland and Martha Conner, all of Houston; three sons, Sammy Buford of Brandon, James Robert Buford of Moline, Ill., and Jerry Buford of Houston; two sisters, Inez Dotson and Mae Gann, both of Houston; a brother, Claud Brassfield of Houston; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Watson, Charlie Pettit, Pete Patton, Jerry Buford, Larry Rucker and Robert Buford.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 12:30 p.m. to service time Sunday.

Mrs. Ida Catherine Blansett Clemons, age86, died Monday, August 1, 1988 at Houston Community Hospital. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 3 at First United Pentecostal Church. Burial was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Smith, the Rev. Charles Flake and the Rev. Grady Williams officiating.

The daughter of the late Harve Blansett and the late Katie Jane Nord, she was born in Webster County. She was a housewife and a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Buford, Mrs. Inez Dotson and Mrs. Mable Gann, all of Houston; two sons, Rex Brassfield and Claude Brassfield, both of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Loma Walters of Houston; one brother, Aaron Blansett of Pheba; 37 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Max Brassfield, Stevie Brassfield, David Brassfield, Glenn Gann, Sammy Buford and Wayne Bailey.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
