Notes - I have Marshal Murphy's (father of Caroline Murphy) Confederate muster rolls. I also have a commendation for him given at the battle of Stones River near Murphreysboro. The spelling is Murphy. My father spoke often of Caroline Murphy Sanders, his grandmother. My oldest brother (still living) remembers her. We are certain of the spelling of her name and Murphy.
