- Neoma Young Brasfield, beloved mother, died peacefully at her home on the morning of Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Born in Gadsden, TN on July 3, 1909, she was preceded in death by her parents, Zula and Lester Young; her husband, Hardy Neal Brasfield; two sisters, Clarine James and Cecil Boals; and one brother, Denton Young. Survivors include her daughter, Kathie Moore and husband Jackie of Franklin, TN; and two grandchildren, Julia Scarborough and T. John Moore of Franklin. She leaves as well her sister-in-law, Varion Lloyd and her brother-in-law, Jack James. Neoma graduated from Alamo High School. She was married on June 2, 1928. She lived most of her life in Trenton. She was a charter member of the Trenton Garden Club, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star and served along with her husband as Grand Marshal of the Teapot Festival. She worked as church secretary at first United Methodist Church, Trenton and as a librarian at Gibson Memorial Library. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Visitation will take place from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 22, 2006 followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Trenton. The interment will be in Salem Cemetery in Gadsden, TN. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Trenton, the American Heart Association, or a charity of the donor's choice.
