- Glen Brassfield, 81, Hellard Road, East Bernstadt, passed away at his home Thursday, April 2, 2009.Born in Whitley County, June 8, 1927, he was the son of Mossie Starrett Brassfield and Mitchell Brassfield. He was a retired factory steel worker, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and affiliated with the Baptist faith.Survivors include his wife, Imajene Brassfield, of East Bernstadt; a son, Mitchell Brassfield, of East Bernstadt; a daughter, Jennifer Moore, of East Bernstadt; a brother, Norman Brassfield, of Dayton, Ohio; a half-sister, Shirley Craig, of Harlan County, Ky.; two half-brothers, O.B. Baker and Doyle Baker, both of Harlan County; five grandchildren, Jennifer Brassfield, Glen Mitchell Brassfield, Opal Michelle Brassfield, Ricky Brummett and Drake Austin Moore, all of Harlan County; and an uncle, Garrett Brassfield, of London.Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Neal officiating.Burial followed in A.R. Dyche Memorial Park.Pallbearers were Ricky Brummett, Glen Mitchell Brassfield, Chris Price, Brian Moore, Johnny Brassfield and Drake Austin Moore.
