- BRASFIELD/TAYLOR connection Posted by Elizabeth Taylor Woods on Sat, 22 Apr 2000 Surname: BRASFIELD, TAYLOR, JAMES I am looking for info on my great grandmother SARA CANDIS /??????? I think her maiden name may have been BRASFIELD. She was born in Tenn in Nov 1862. She married Harvey Taylor who was also born in Tenn in Nov 1861. I first found them listed on the 1880 Census Report for Obion County Tenn with one child (Minnie). I then found them listed on the 1900 Census Report for Dyer County Tenn Fowlkes with (8) children(Minnie, Birt, Dixie, Albert Brasfield, James Augness, Hubbard, Oliver, Newton Howard and Clifford. I then found some of the kids listed with Dixie and her husband Ashley HArris in Dyer County. The other chldren migrated to Dunklin County Missouri by 1910-1920. I have never found any other info on Sara Candis. I think maaybe that her maiden name might have been Brasfield. They usually used their maiden names for middle names and there are a lot of Brasfields in the Dyer County area???? If you all could look to see if Sara is in your line I would be extremly happy. Thanks in advance, Elizabeth Taylor Woods
