- Charles Brasfield, 75, of Lubbock died Wednesday in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday Oct. 21, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the W.W. Rix Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Friday at Rix Funeral Directors. Mr. Brasfield was born May 28, 1931 in Dyersburg, Tenn. to Alvis and Della Brasfield. He attended schools in Tennessee and Chicago. He was a disabled veteran of the Korean conflict. He married Barbara Bernice Peek, June 7, 1955 in Clovis, NM. He had worked for the Lubbock cotton oil mill, and had been a law officer and a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bernice; daughters, Susan Shelby and Helen Bayer; two sons, Charlie Brasfield and David Brasfield, all of Lubbock. Also surviving are three brothers, Leon Brassfield of Lubbock, Billy Brassfield, of Aransas Pass and Wyan Essary of Lubbock; 3 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
