Brassfield - Donald S. Brassfield, Bedford, died suddenly on Friday, June 13, 1997. Born on November 3, 1948, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of John E. and Alice (Piper) Brassfield. On February 17, 1993, he married Julie Evans Volz, who survives.
Also surviving are the father; two daughters, Mrs. Tim (Melinda Beth) Brown and Allison Lea Brassfield, both of Bedford; one step-daughter, Cheryl Lynne Volz of Bloomington, IN; one grandson, Jarrett Layne Brown; one sister, Cindy Vaught of Indianapolis, IN; two nieces; three nephews; and one great niece. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Donald Brassfield was a journeyman tool & die maker with Stone City Products and formerly E & M Tool in Bedford. He was a graduate of ITT with a degree in Tool Design Engineering and I.C.S. with a Degree in Tool & Die Making. He was a member of First Church of God in Bedford and a long time member of Henpecked Bowling League and Broadview Industrial Bowling Leagues.
The funeral service for Donald Brassfield will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18th, at the First Baptist Church of Bedford, with the Revs. Lewis Williams and Jon Lineback officiating. Burial will be in Hopkins Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-9 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, June 16-17, and from 9:00 a.m. till noon on Wednesday, June 18th, at Day & Carter Mortuary, and from 1:00 p.m. till service time at the First Baptist Church.
