- Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. - William Nathan “Bill” Dye, age 78, of Sunrise Beach, passed away, Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Kingman, Kan., the son of the late Albert Nathan and Dean Parsons Dye. On Aug. 1, 1969, in Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Helen Brasfield Walker, who survives of the home Bill was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingman, Kan., a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 1432 in Salina, Kan., and a past member of the Osage Community Elks Lodge No. 2705 in Laurie. Bill enjoyed woodworking, boating, and partying with family and friends. In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by his sons, William Dye and wife Shelly of Montgomery, Texas, and Lynn Walker and wife Sandra Hopkins of Columbia, Mo.; his daughters, Carla Woods of Gravois Mills and LeeAnne Brumm and husband Brad of Laurie; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Amber Knight and husband Alex, Marissa Bonet and husband Miguel, Kyle Walker, Asia Walker, Allen Brumm, Delaney Brumm, Jessica Knipp and husband Nathan, Nicole Bloom and husband Dustin, Danielle Norman and husband Cory, Mollie Dye, and William Trae Dye; six great-grandchildren, Analyce, Sarah, Kyler, Rahona, Hunter, and Addie; his brothers, Bobbie Dye and wife Elan of Salina, Kan., and Clarence Dye and wife Brenda of Farmington, N.M.; his brother-in-law, Franklin Brasfield and wife Hilma of Rosamond, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A private, family graveside service and inurnment will be held at a later date in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery in Laurie. Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.
