- BRASFIELD, REUEL R. - age 91, departed this life on May 8, 2012 at his daughter's home in Orlando, Fl. He was born in Alamo, Tn. to Alfonzo and Nova Cherry Brasfield on May 11, 1920. Known for his kindness and generosity to friends and family, he walked the Christian pathway having given his heart to Christ at age 18 after a near-fatal illness. A well-respected and successful general contactor in Knoxville for many years, he and his brother, Travis, owned Brasfield Bros. and East Tennessee Home Builders. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He is survived by daughters, Brenda (Marion) Clabough, Clinton, TN and Rebecca (Bruce) Bonds, Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Jason (Tammy) Barber, Christine Harris, Matthew Clabough, Joel (Emily) Clabough, Joshua Ryan Cook; great-grandchildren, Natalie Barber, Christian Harris, Autumn Harris, Joel Howley, Alanna Harris, Korben Clabough, Kaidyn Clabough, Elijah Clabough, Grace Clabough; siblings, Travis (Sylvia) Brasfield, Jim (Doris) Brasfield, Doug (Lola) Brasfield, and Jane Carnal; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Florence (Wesley) Kinzer and Rachael Brasfield. Funeral arrangements provided by Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel 4131 E. Emory Road. Family will be receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Saturday, May 12, 2012. Funeral service and celebration of life at Halls Chapel, Mynatt Funeral Home, 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 13, 2012. Rev. Guy Milam officiating. Graveside prayer and burial at Lynnhurst Cemetery will follow service.
