- MEMPHIS - Robert "Bob" Bowen, 70, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at the Corinth Health and Rehab Facility. He was born in Guntown Feb. 24, 1935, to the late Charles C. and Rene Bowen. He retired from the City of Memphis Police Department as a Crime Analyst Investigator in 1991. His career in law enforcement included Chief of Police of Horn Lake, Chief of Police of Calhoun City; Patrolman, City of Memphis, and he began his career as a Patrolman in Tupelo, where he also trained police dogs.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Highland Heights United Methodist Church with the Rev. Emily Matheny officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis. McPeters Funeral Directors of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Miller Bowen of Memphis; two daughters.
Memorials may be made to the Highland United Methodist church, Memphis, TN., the American Heart Association or the Memphis Humane Society.
