- Gordon W. Brassfield Sr., 69, of RR 1 Monroeton, Franklin Township, Pa., passed away Monday evening June 11, 2007 at his home following an extended illness.
Born February 13, 1938 in Queens, N.Y., he was one of seven children of the late Harry and Violet Gesser Brassfield. Gordon was employed by EDO Corporation in College Point, Queens, N.Y. for 30 years until his retirement.
Surviving are: his son, Gordon W. Brassfield Jr. and his wife, Melissa Brassfield of Towanda, Pa.; his daughters, Carol Brassfield of Bronx, N.Y., Susan Miller of Raleigh, N.C. two stepsons, Kevin Flanigan and his wife Linda Flanigan of College Point, Queens, N.Y., Michael Flanigan of Sayre, Pa.; grandchildren, Lisamarie, Culleen, Gary and Cynthia Brassfield, Edward, Rose-Ann, Shannon, Cherl, and Kimberly Flanigan Michael Flanigan Jr., Tavis, Brett and Bryant King, Keri, Michael and Erin Miller; several great-grandchildren; his sisters, Carol Coffey of Hancock, Md., Marilyn Schulz of Milwaukee, Wis.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Viola Einerson Brassfield on July 20, 2004.
The family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening June 13, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home , 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa.
A grave side service will be held Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Franklin Center Cemetery, Franklin Twp., Pa.
