- Mrs. Dona Belle Lifsey, age 80, of Barnesville passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 in a Spalding County healthcare facility. A native of Rock Mills, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Leo Colquitt and the late Mrs. Mittie Irene Knight Colquitt.
Dona was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Lester Gerdine Lifsey Jr.; by a daughter, Leslie Lifsey Sperry; by a brother, Henry Colquitt; and by a sister, Sue Colquitt Oertley. Mrs. Lifsey was retired as a payroll clerk from The William Carter Company and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville.
Survivors include two daughters, Lanie Lifsey Long (and Charles Randy) of Barnesville and Elisha Lifsey Dix (and Tim) of Barnesville; one son, Leonard Britt Lifsey (and Ginger Turner) of Barnesville; one stepson, Lester Joseph Lifsey of Phoenix City, Ala.; one son-in-law, Terry Sperry of Augusta; one sister, Linda Colquitt Kuder; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dona Belle Lifsey will be conducted Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville.
