Notes:

Dory ran a county store in the Summerland Community for many years. Dory's great uncle Herman Johnson told that when he was youngster, that his mother gave him a dime and sent him to Dory's store to get a gallon of Coal Oil. When he got there, he found a nice straw hat that was just his size, for only a dime, so he bought it. After he returned home and had a serious discussion with his mother about the hat purchase, he returned to Dory's store and traded the hat for the original gallon of Coal Oil. He first married to Ora Dunlap and had a daughter. He remarried to Bertah Johnnie Sparks they had twelve children. (story from C.L. Boyd's book the Standridge.
