Hi Michael: I descend from Nancy Allen, daughter of Samuel Allen and Mary McAllister. Nancy married Jeptha Terrell in N.C. and had 4 daughters: Ritty Maria; Louisa; Emily and one other. Both Nancy and Jeptha died before they could make the move with their siblings to Weakley Co. So, John Terrell "adopted" his brother Jeptha's girls and brought them to Weakley County with him. Nancy's Allen relatives also made the move at the same time. In Weakley County Ritty Maria married Col. John Almus Gardner 1828, and her sister Emily married John Gardner's brother.
