Scott County Times 2 March 2005 VIRGINIA BRASSFIELD Virginia Simpson Brassfield, age 89, of Fort Smith died Sunday, February 20, 2005 in a Ft. Smith nursing home. She was a member of the Coop Prairie Church and the widow of Lester Simpson and the late John Brassfield. She is survived by two sons, Martin Simpson of Atlanta, Georgia and Jerry Simpson of Corvella, Montana; one sister, Ina Gene Hudson of Houston, Texas; one brother, Mel Harp of Lubbock, Texas; one granddaughter, Virginia Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandsons, Martin Simpson, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama, Christopher Simpson of Billings, Montana and Jeffery Simpson of Billings, Montana and several great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Coop Prairie Cemetery at Mansfield under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield. Serving as pallbearers were Jeffery and Marty Simpson, Jimmy Donald, Donald Williams, Danny Hurt and Glen Hu
