    Notes:

    John “Bud” Reed of Eagle River died Thursday, Dec. 27, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was 90.

    Mr. Reed was born June 21, 1917, in Antigo, the son of Donald and Clara (nee Birssom) Reed.

    After graduating from Antigo High School in 1936, he was employed as an aviation metalsmith by Lockheed Douglas in California.

    He married Kathryn Eickhoff in Antigo Feb.18, 1944.

    He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

    In 1947, he moved to Conover, where he was associated with Eickhoff Lumber and A&A Lumber, retiring in 1983.

    He was a member of the American Legion in Land O’ Lakes, Plum Creek Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association, as well as co-founder and chairman of the board of Headwaters State Bank in Land O’ Lakes.

    His hobbies included hunting and walleye fishing.

    He was preceded in death by his brother, Blair.

    Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack (Donna) of Rice Lake and Tom (Karen) of Sayner; a sister, Marion Dahlmann of Twinsburgh, Ohio; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, beginning at 1 p.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patricia Tucker officiating.

    Burial will be in Antigo Cemetery
