R. L. Earnest Dies In Mishap; Rites Tuesday

Robert Lee earnest of Okolona was killed in a tractor accident at his farm near here on Sunday afternoon. He was 57 years of age.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Boones Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Summerlin officating assited by Rev.Bill Feland. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Reports indicated that Mr. Earnest was pinned under the tractor when it overturned, killing him instantly.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Irene Woodall Earnest of Okolona; two sons, Eugene Earnest of Nettleton and James Robert Earnest of Okolona;two step-sons, Eddie and Teddy Brasfield, both of Okolona; a sister, Nadine Strimick of Denton, Texas;two brothers, Murdock Earnest of Lamont, Ill., and W. C. Earnest of Del, Ark., two-half brothers, Charles Hollimon of Okolona and Paul Earnest of Louisana; and eight grandchildren.
