MANILA -- Norma Florine Trantham, 89, of Manila died Monday, May 23, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born in Gadsden, Tenn., she had lived in Manila for most of her life and was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church of Manila. Survivors include a son, Jessie Trantham of Blytheville; four grandchildren, Sherry Bowman of Little Rock, Kim Rhodes of Meridian, Miss., Angela Bost of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Carla Edney of Crossett; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Trantham; one son, Jimmy Wayne Trantham; and her parents, Walter and Thaddie Casey Nicks. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Howard Funeral Service of Manila, with the Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church of Manila.
