    Brassfield family history states that Ida was born in Jackson Twp., Livingston County, Missouri, the youngest of 4 children of Adam Scott Brassfield who died about 1885, and Mary Angeline Pond, who died in Chillicothe, Livingston County, Missouri on December 1, 1924 under the name of Mary A. Smith, widow of Frank Smith. Ida Brassfield was married to Arvin C. Dowell on January 13, 1898 in Livingston County, Missouri. Dowell family information indicates that Ida's husband Arvin disappeared sometime during the Great Depression for reasons that were not mentioned.
    Ida is listed as the parent of Arvin A. Dowell, buried in the same plot. The 1880 census, Jackson Twp., Livingston County, Missouri shows; Ida I. Brassfield, Oct. daughter, in the family of Adam S.
