Edwin R. Clement most like died in a Confederate military hospital in Jackson, Mississippi rather than Jackson TN. This information is based on the movements of his CSA artillery unit being in Mississippi the dates he goes to hospital. Edwin is my great-grandfather. Concerning the death date of Edwin Ruthin Clement, 1862. That date is the last known date we can document that he was alive. He may have died later. His military unit was garrisoned at Corinth, MS at the time he was sent to the hospital. There were CSA military hospitals at both Jackson, MS and Jackson, TN. However, it seems to me, that if he was in the TN hospital, family could have fetched him home, as they lived in Gibson Co., just one county north.
